One week ago, the world of football came to a standstill because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The new reality of these top athletes includes social distancing and self-isolation. Footballers must find new ways to keep busy during the shutdown.

Here is how some footballers are occupying themselves.

Taking part in the #stayathome challenge

Some footballers are taking part in the #stayathome challenge, which encourages people to increase social distancing by staying inside. It is hoped that this will help to fight the spread of Covid-19.

Some footballers have found fun and inventive ways to fight boredom.

Here is Machester United's Marcus Rashford practicing his technique with toilet roll!

And here is Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden...

When you are a master of kick-ups with toilet roll, you can take it to the next level.

Here is Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy showing off his skills!

But some footballers are not dealing well with the boredom!

When football is your life, it's difficult to adapt to being stuck indoors.

Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham posted this to his Twitter page, "Day 4 without sports."

Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin isn't doing much better...

Gaming with friends

Some footballers are spending their time at home playing their favourite video games with friends. They are encouraging their fans to do the same to help stop the spread of the virus.

Arsenal players Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac and PSG winger Julian Draxler are playing together whilst also raising money for charity...

Spending time with their families

Exercising at home can be difficult because it is hard to stay motivated. But Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has found a good solution!

Manchester City's David Silva is taking family exercise to a new level!

Stay positive

What is the most important lesson we can learn from these footballers?

The power of staying positive!

All of these footballers are making the responsible choice of socially distancing themselves, which is very difficult. But they are making the best of a bad situation by finding positive outlets. It can be as easy as connecting with your friends online, spending time with your children or even inventing silly games with toilet roll! The choices are endless.

Stay positive and make the best of a bad situation.
